Total amount
The amount you paid, as printed on the receipt.
Take a photo of a receipt or choose one from your gallery. Expeniqo reads the total, merchant and date, suggests a category, and shows you everything to check. Tap save, and it's part of your spending.

How receipt capture works
Take a photo with your camera, or choose one from your gallery.
Expeniqo reads the receipt and finds the key details.
Check receipt details. Change anything that isn't right.
Choose how you paid and tap Save expense — or discard it.
It shows up in your expenses, budget and reports.
What gets filled in
These are the fields on the Check receipt details screen. Expeniqo reads what's on the receipt; the rest is up to you.
The amount you paid, as printed on the receipt.
The shop or business name, so the expense is easy to recognise later.
The date on the receipt, so the expense lands in the right month.
A suggested category — Food, Shopping, Travel, Bills and so on — that you can change.
Cash, UPI or Card. Receipts rarely say this clearly, so you pick it.
Anything you want to remember about the purchase. Optional.
Some receipts are faded, crumpled or handwritten. If Expeniqo can't read one, you can enter it manually — nothing is saved automatically.
Review before saving
Scanned details are a suggestion, not a decision. Expeniqo shows you what it found and waits for you.

Part of the picture
Once saved, a scanned expense is a normal expense. It's marked with a Scan badge in All transactions, and it counts in your category breakdown and reports.

Privacy
Receipts can show where you shop and what you buy. Here's exactly what happens to one.
The receipt image is read and then discarded. Expeniqo doesn't keep a copy of your receipt — only the expense you choose to save.
The image travels from the app to Expeniqo's server over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
To read the receipt, Expeniqo's server uses Google's Gemini AI model. It returns suggested details; it doesn't save anything to your account.
Scanned details are suggestions. An expense is only created when you check the details and tap Save expense.
FAQ
Take a photo of a receipt or choose one from your gallery. Expeniqo reads it and suggests the merchant, date, total and a category. You check the details, choose how you paid, and save — nothing is saved until you do. If a receipt can't be read, you can try again or enter it manually.
No scanner reads every receipt perfectly. Faded, crumpled or handwritten receipts can be hard to read, and suggestions can be wrong — that's why you always review the details before saving.
No. The image is sent over HTTPS for reading, processed in memory using Google's Gemini API, and not stored by Expeniqo. Only the details you choose to save become an expense.
Scan it, check it, save it. Your budget and reports take it from there.
